While in recent years I have been fortunate enough to travel all around the world, I originally hail from Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin! I am a proud Cheesehead, and whenever I am away from home I miss my family and friends, the beautiful Wisconsin summers, and (of course) fried cheese curds. |
After earning my degree in English Education in 2014, I moved to Bahrain to teach at an international school. Ever since, I have been living and working abroad. My time overseas has introduced to me to countless new experiences, all of which have helped shape me into the person and educator I am today. I have met people from backgrounds far different from my own, tasted foods I had previously never heard of, and learned about the cultures of my students.
Living abroad has also encouraged my passion for language. Through all of my schooling, I studied French as a second language. Now, living in Japan, I have been taking lessons for almost a year! I hope to become a proficient speaker by the end of my time here - それはむずかしい!
I have encountered and worked with students from too many different countries to name. Some of them English speakers, some of them English learners. Their constant resilience and dedication in the face of something truly difficult continues to inspire me as an educator, but also as a person. Their eagerness to learn and explore something new are traits I hope to carry with me in all endeavors I undertake in my own life.
